Project Special™  has features that help you:

  • Students and staff management.

Simple and straightforward data entry makes record-keeping easy. Well organized forms remind you to enter data that will be needed later for state reports, etc. In addition, you can easily find, sort, and print your records, either individually or in groups by homeroom, placement, classification, etc. The software helps you to manage your students and staff meetings. 

  • Keep track of programs and placements.

In the classes database, you can organize all your students' programs and placements. By using unique "Class Codes" for each class or placement, you reduce typing chores to a minimum.

  • Use information you stored in Word, Excel, or any other Windows application.

If you want to use information you already have about students, staff, or curriculum, you can import it, cut and paste, or drag and drop to create new records or update information in the database.

  • Use your Project Special data in other computer programs. 

You currently can export any information in the database to any other application. If you want a more flexible report you can use our new and improved ad-hoc exporter. The ad-hoc exporter will export any database information to any spreadsheet program with three steps. Find what kids you want, the fields of information needed, and print / modify (done from spreadsheet). The software offers a "create a merge" button to create an export data file of a students relivant IEP information. This is useful when IEP format was developed in a word processor. With future version of Project Special, you will be able to mail merge directly with the Project Special database. 

  • Data entry.

Project Special allows information to be imported, copied and pasted, drag and drop, typed in by hand, or scanned in using scanner sheets* or booklets*.

*Scanner Sheets and our IEP Booklet use a scanner from National Computer Systems to input data into the database. Reducing the amount of time spent doing manual data entry.
